Arriving in Santiago we stopped at Motoaventura to see if the Heidineu tires for the 650 GS had arrived yet. They are 2 blocks down from the new BMW dealership, which is now the second largest in the world. The service department will move from the old location to there in 2 weeks, so we headed there to see Filipe for our valve checks.

We checked into the Rio Amazonias Hostal on the recommendation of Gino and Fiona. It is in a great location in central Santiago.

We walked to and climbed up the Cerro Santa Lucia for a panoramic view of the city.

There are several pedestrian only roads from here and one leads to the Mercado central. On the corner is a great empanada place packed with locals and where we had a delicious lunch. Inside is the fish market and lots of overprices restaurants.

The valve checks at BMW Santiago are done and there are no issues. The tires arrived by air shipment to Motoadventura from Germany today too. Things are looking up.Here in Chile its not BMW!

Merry Christmas to the 2 of you. What an amazing adventure. We love your pictures and you both look like you are doing just fine. We hear that you love South America and are in no hurry to leave. We also heard you where on a cruise. What a life!
Chris Danielle and baby Carol are here for the holidays and soon they will be moving back into their own home. It has been great fun watching little Carol grow and discover her world. The kids got back from 2 1/2 months in Europe and then 2 weeks in Mexico before coming back to the cold and snow. You probably heard about the terrible flood we had in this area last summer. One of Chris’s friends parents lost everything and they are staying in the house in town so that is why the kids have moved in with us. We are learning a lot about Grace. Hugs to both of you Auntie ruth
