South Island-Molesworth and Christchurch
Today we are heading to the ferry across the Cook (as in captain) straight to the South island, but the sailing is not until 1330.

Today it is cloudy and cooler as we head towards Wellington and the ferry to the south island.
We had planned to ride out to the Gannet colony at Cape kidnapper, but after getting most of the way out there we found the access is blocked by private land and you have to go on a tour.… Read the rest

“Where did you ride to today?” “A lake starts with a W, but can’t pronounce it.”
Today the forecast is supposed to be good and we planned the cross road route back north west to Rotorua past Lake Waikaremoana on as the sign warns “ Caution 105 km of curvy un-surfaced road”. You never know though as the weather changes here every few hours and the forecast is very unreliable.… Read the rest

Coromandel Peninsula and the East Cape!
Today we want to get out onto the Coromandel Peninsula and are hoping for clear skies to get some Milky Way shots, but it is pretty cloudy.

North to Cape Reinga and South to Mangawhai Heads
Our plan over the next few days is to make it to the north tip of the island at Cape Reinga. Today we set off on our own and rode south west to Dargaville.
