ALL ROADS LEAD TO ATHINA

Today’s ride is 133 km and 3 hours. We are first backtracking about 16 km to “one of the nicest beaches in Greece” called Voidokilia. It’s north of the Bay of Pilos and west of the Gialova lagoons. It is shaped like the Greek Omega or like a horseshoe.… Read the rest
LET THE GAMES BEGIN

Well the sun is out this morning but boy is it windy. The flat water from yesterday is gone and white caps and waves replaced it. To go south from here there is a toll bridge 2.5E for a motorcycle (13 for a car) or the 15 minute ferry ride for 1E.… Read the rest

TWO GREEK SALADS A DAY EVERY DAY!

The forecast is a bit suspect again today. It’s only 2 hours for 133 km to the island of Lefkada. For the scenic route it is 152 km and takes 3 hours. For both options this is if you take the undersea tunnel, which for a bike is .70 E and saves about 45 min.… Read the rest
IT’S ALL GREEK TO ME
Today we are headed off and our friends are all going back to Athens. We are riding north and then west to end up in Kastoria Western Macedonia in 277 km with a ride time of 4.5 hours. The route was 3/4 secondary roads with a 65 km highway section about 150 km from Kastoria.… Read the rest

È Tutto Greco per Me

Grimaldi and the Trip to Puglia in the Heel of Italy
After a long wait we are finally on board the Grimaldi ferry from Barcelona Spain to Civitavecchia Italy. As luck would have it we are parked at one end, and we had to walk all the way to the other end of the ship as only one stairway was open from deck 7 to access reception.… Read the rest

We are pretty excited as it is finally time to go back to Spain to continue traveling on the Falcon. He has been safe and sound in the garage of our friend Modesto in Mojacar Playa, which is in the south of Spain.… Read the rest

Jaén to Úbeda to Granada to Mojacar

The rain has stopped and it has warmed up to 16 degrees. Our plan today is to make it to sleep in the UNESCO city of Úbeda. It is only 57 km directly, but of course we managed to make it into a loop of 160 km and got us to our 3 pm check in at a boutique hotel for 65 Canadian a night in a 14 th century building.… Read the rest

Tarifa to Estepona to Ronda to Jaén

It’s only an hour east and 73 km from Tarifa to Estepona, but we managed to again make a day of it by going the long way. This means riding west and we initially took a small road north, but after 40 km it was blocked with a gate with only access to residents.… Read the rest
