Our First Bike Trip (Going to Cali)

Although we had done a fair bit of  traveling and spent endless hours offroad on our dirt bikes we had yet to get on a street legal bike and actually tour. For our first ride we had time in February and needed to find a place warm enough to ride. It was our very first test trip so we didn't want it to be too challenging. We chose southern California, Nevada, and Arizona. Luckily Daniel’s parents were headed to Lake Havasu and could transport the F800GS there for us. We had planned the route on Google maps and I think underestimated the distances a bit. Our route on the map for 5 days was 795 miles or 1279 km.

Lake Havasu City, Arizona to Barstow, California = 227 miles  (365 km)
Barstow to Newport Beach, California = 121 miles (195 km)
Newport Beach to Coronado Island, California = 94 miles (151 km)
Coronado to Palm Dessert, California = 172 miles (277 km)
Palm Dessert to Lake Havasu = 181 miles (291 km)
