Porto

We started our day out well with a nice breakfast in our apartment prepared by the Swede. It was an easy and inexpensive Uber ride into the city Center. We got dropped off at the Sao Bento train station with its iconic lobby and tracks.

We walked uphill to the city hall for the PORTO sign photo.

Next stop was the Carmo church with its many gilded  rooms, catacomb, and roof access.

There are musicians playing all over the city. We walked down to the mirador with a view of the Douro river and the Ribeira waterfront.

We arrived to the river frontage in very busy Ribeira.

You can walk on both levels of the Louis 1 bridge.

We walked on the Lower part to Vila Nova de Gaia where the port wine warehouses are located. We stumbled on a small port wine tasting bar for the real Porto experience.

This left the sunset 6 bridge boat tour, a ride on the teleferico, and a stroll on the upper bridge deck where you run to the side of the bridge when the trams come by. Last we headed up to the Mosteiro da Serra do Pilar for a panoramic view of the two cities.
