Plascencia
We have waited out the rainy weather for 3 days in Leon. We are also struggling with trying to do too many things. We had planned this trip with Orvar and Trevor. We had initially thought we could ride south to Tarifa to meet our good friends there, but after riding mostly on the highway all day from Leon to Plasencia we had a change of heart.… Read the rest

Leon
The weather forecast is rather wet and so we have decided to hunker down in Leon. We got a great 3 bedroom apartment 200 m from the Cathedral. This gives us time for some catching up on posts. Orvar needs a new sprocket and chain and so we dropped off his bike today.… Read the rest

Picos de Europa
Daniel and Petros took the day to run the loop to Leon and back since it is his last day with us. Trevor and I are recovering from colds and the Swede is exhausted after sprinting from Sweden. The plan is for us to rest up and then the four of us will head back to Leon thru the Picos de Europa region.… Read the rest

The first stop was breakfast at the bottom of the hill and the second was the one hour espresso top up.… Read the rest

Bilbao and Burgos
We made good time and arrived in Bilbao before our 2 pm check in and so we headed downtown to see if we could connect with our friends that flew in from Athens this morning. We first met Petros on the Faroe Islands in 2015 and then again in 2016 when we made it to Greece.… Read the rest

What do you mean Santiago is not actually the end of the road!?
And you thought we were done in Santiago?
“For many pilgrims their Way comes to an end in Santiago de Compostela. However, dating back almost to the discovery of the tomb of Saint James the Apostle in the 9th century, many of the pilgrims, decided to continue their journey to the Costa da Morte (“Coast of Death”) on the Camino Fisterra (the worlds end).… Read the rest

Santiago de Compostella at last!
We are trying to catch up to some of our other Camino friends to arrive to Santiago (22.1 more km) together. They had not gone to Samos and were then about 5-6 km ahead of us for the last few days.… Read the rest
