Now it is time to just ride south to BA! But first Dan needed to ride the 4 meter section of the 9 one more time!
We had a nice time with our new friend Martin as well. Thanks so much for the hospitality!
The route we chose was less direct but then we did not need to cover the same ground on the 9. We spent the first night in Catamarca 536 km.
Today we are completeing our 6 week over 13,000 km loop to and from La Falda. Arriving here after 445 km we were happy to be greated by the friendly faces of Walter and Dagmar and hosted to a great dinner and nights stay.
Since we did not leave their house until after an asado lunch at 3 pm we only made it to Villa Maria again on the 9 after 224 km.
Today we opted again for the less direct route on the 4 south to La Carlota and then south and east on the 8 to San Antonio de Areco at 501 km. This is a town famous for the Gaucho (Argentinian cowboy) culture.
For us it was a good place to catch some world cup action.
The last day of this leg of the journey is a short 84 km to San Miguel near Buenos Aires. We were welcomed by Ramiro and Pia, whom we had met in Panama and in Vancouver on their way to Alaska last year. Pia’s father Martin has been kind enough to host us here in his home and store our bikes in his garage for the 4 months we are home. This meant Asado for dinner!!
Great pictures
More great photos, & I see you still haven’t lost your nack for finding good food & drink!!
As for the goucho cowboy culture, in so many pictures, I think Clint Eastwood will be showing up on his horse, & of course he’ll say-do you feel lucky”!!
xox
you are so right!!!
