We had a tour of the downtown with Pia. This included the Museum of Latin American Art,  the “PINK” house of the President, the white house where the country of Argentina was “formed”, the parliament, and the Cathedral.

MALBA

The current exhibit here is of Antonio Berni. “Berni’s post-1950s work can be viewed as “a synthesis of Pop Art and Social realism.” In 1958 he began collecting and collaging discarded material to create a series of works featuring a character named Juanito Laguna. The series became a social narrative on industrialization and poverty, and pointed out the extreme disparities existing between the wealthy Argentine aristocracy and the “Juanitos” of the slums.”

    Check out Uruguay!
When we were in Buenos Aires we took the ferry across the river to Uruguay to pick up some USA greenbacks in the ATM so we could get a better exchange rate in Argentina.
We liked Uruguay so much we stayed a Month.
Check it out… Lots of big wide open spaces, some remarkable government policies, great beaches, one horse for every 15 humans, terrific people, true Gauchos. We loved it. You will too.

We will for sure, but we are headed to the North of Brazil now since it is the best weather for kite surfing. We will go back south thru Uruguay to BA mid Feb. Thanks for the tip
