Today we are leaving Sulawesi and headed to “Borneo” better known as Kalimantan in Indonesia. The ferry dock is 19 km north of Palu and the ride takes about 30 minutes.

We were up with the roosters again today, had breakfast, and were on the road by 9. Our plan for the day is to get near to the Indonesian border and find somewhere to stay there. Plans change.

We had an Uber pick up at 645 am for the 30 km trip to the Perth airport, a 3 hour flight on Qantas to Darwin, a 2 hour layover, and then a 1 hr 1 5 min flight on Air North to Dili.… Read the rest

We have opted not to go north on the “coast highway” as it is rarely on the coast and we will head inland to the hills. We did have to first book it 129 km north on the M1 freeway (this after 30 minutes just getting to it from the city).… Read the rest
